The powers of sight and reflection have been bestowed once more upon the (right) eye of an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus, thanks to a watch glass that has been silver plated and placed in its center. One might find in it “the dilated reflection of something that lies elsewhere, in another world.” (Loti, The death of Philae)

La vue et la réflexion ont été rendues à un œil (droit) de sarcophage égyptien antique, grâce à un verre de montre, qui a été argenté puis placé en son centre. On peut y voir « le reflet dilaté d’une chose qui serait ailleurs, dans un autre monde » (Loti, La mort de Philæ).
