The Secret Miracle, 1943) claims that God is to be found in one of the letters of a place name on a map of India. This assertion is here taken literally: place names are chanted like a mantra, transforming a map into a sacred text, and listening into a mystical experience.

Une voix enregistrée sur bande magnétique égrène l’intégralité des noms figurant sur une carte de l’Inde. Une nouvelle de J-L Borges (Le miracle secret, 1943) avance que Dieu se trouve dans l’une des lettres d’un des noms d’une carte de l’Inde. Cette proposition, symbolique, peut tout aussi bien être prise littéralement: les noms ont donc été scandés comme un mantra, transformant ainsi une carte en texte sacré, et son écoute en expérience mystique.
