A quartz drill bit is inserted into a drill. Hand-cut in a raw crystal rock, despite being the exact copy of the original steel version, it will not pierce any usual construction materials.
Beyond the technical context, the scope of the modified tool covers other fields: the piercing, perforating action of the drill bit can be interpreted as an act of revelation, the creation of a hole as an opening onto the unknown.

Un foret en quartz est fixé à une perceuse. Entièrement retaillé à la main à partir d’une pointe brute en cristal de roche, copie exacte de l’original en acier, il est cependant inapte à percer les habituels matériaux de chantier.
L'outil modifié est donc à appréhender au-delà du travail technique, son champ d’action se situant sur d’autres plans ; on peut envisager l’action de la mèche — qui est de percer, comme révélatrice : le trou est une ouverture sur l’inconnu.
